Sustainability Guidelines
Preamble
We are proud to be an agency that not only realises innovative marketing projects but does so in accordance with the highest environmental standards. We are guided by the United Nation’s 17 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), which aim to ensure sustainable development on an economic, social, and ecological level. We pay particular attention to the following six SDGs: ‘Good health and well-being’, ‘Quality education’, ‘Gender equality’, ‘Decent work and economic growth’, ‘Responsible consumption and production’, and ‘Climate action’.
In this way, we actively contribute to the preservation of our environment and set an example for responsibility and sustainability.
- Integration of sustainability as a guiding principle: At TMC, we are aware of our economic, ecological, and social responsibilities and are actively engaged to sustainable practices in everything we do.
We firmly believe that successful marketing projects and sustainability can go hand in hand. This conviction is reflected in our commitment to sustainable business practices which we implement in all areas of the TMC Group – TMC Brandwork, TMC Amplio and TMC Live. - Environmental protection as a prerequisite: For us at TMC, environmental protection isn’t just a trend, it’s a fundamental obligation that is anchored in our mission statement. As a marketing agency group, we consider it our moral and corporate duty to actively contribute to environmental protection and the promotion of sustainable practices. Our aim is not only to minimise the environmental impact of our own activities, but also to inspire our employees and stakeholders to think and act ecologically.
- Raising awareness among employees: We understand the importance of environmental awareness and expertise as essential components of our corporate culture. Our employees receive information and hands-on opportunies to develop a deep understanding of environmental issues.
We are committed to practising environmentally conscious thinking in a sustainable way at all levels of our company. Integrating the sustainability guidelines into our operational practice is mandatory for us. This entails not only minimising our own environmental impact, but also applies to the selection and commitment of our partner companies. - Ecologically driven procurement process: When making new investments, we attach great importance to environmental aspects and favour environmentally friendly alternatives wherever possible and economically viable. This also applies to our company fleet.
We endeavour to take environmental parameters into account in our decision-making and consciously choose options that have a low ecological footprint. This also applies to our project business: Here, we focus on the effects of individual measures and try to propose the most relevant option for our customers in terms of sustainability.
Wherever possible, we endeavour to collaborate with partners and suppliers who are local. This approach not only enables more efficient collaboration, but also helps to reduce transport emissions, which in turn contributes to better sustainability.
We also focus on green IT when it comes to our IT equipment. In terms of the procurement and operation of our IT, this means taking environmentally friendly criteria into account when selecting IT products and services wherever possible and feasible in order to reduce energy consumption and environmental impact. We also favour measures to reduce energy consumption and emissions in IT operations through efficient data management and consolidation, provided this can also be reconciled with our customers’ IT requirements.
By combining environment friendly investments and emphasising regional cooperation, we are taking a further step in our environmentally friendly corporate philosophy. - Protection of resources: The primary objective of our sustainability guidelines is to use all resources economically and efficiently and by doing so, make our contribution to a sustainable environment. Since we are not a manufacturing company, our focus is the responsible use of materials and reducing emissions as well as any other negative environmental impacts.
To ensure the effectiveness of our endeavours, we keep a record of the consumption of all relevant resources such as electricity, heat, water, office materials, and consumables. We use this data to derive specific savings targets and implement targeted improvement measures. This proactive approach reflects our commitment not only to develop innovative marketing solutions, but to doing so in an environmentally responsible manner. 6 - Information policy
At TMC, we pursue a transparent information policy, both internally and externally. Our aim is to inform our employees, customers, the public, and institutions about our sustainability guidelines. We strive for an objective, open, and comprehensive dialogue. We plan to publish a voluntary sustainability report in accordance with DNK standards (DNK = Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitskodex, German Sustainability Codex) starting from the 2024 financial year.
We are actively involved in regional initiatives such as Ökoprofit (Cooperation project between municipalities, local businesses and other partners from the NRW region) and the IHK climate initiative OWL (Project of the East Westphalia Chamber of Industry and Commerce, which promotes sustainable and climate-friendly practice), which enables us to benefit from the advantages of close networking with key players in the region. Our participation in regional initiatives underlines our commitment to sustainable business practices and demonstrates our efforts to actively contribute to further development and networking in our region. - Constant Goal – Improving sustainability: We continuously strive to improve both our energy and environmental performance to make a long-term contribution to the preservation of nature and the environment. We regard the fulfilment of (environmental) legal requirements as a matter of course and an integral part of our business practice.
